Panic Disorders Message Board

Panic Disorders Board Index

My husband was diagnosed as having panic attacks about 6 months ago. We had both had a really hard couple of months after a car accident and loosing a baby due to that. We naturally believed in our GP and attended seminars sought counselling etc. Eventually it got too much as none of this was helping and decided to seek external advice. We ended up speaking to a hypnotherapist, within the space of about 15 minutes on the phone she figured out that yes okay he was having panic attacks but in actual fact it was due to something much deeper that needed adressing first and this was Post traumatic stress disorder. No it is not something that just soldiers in a war get nearly everyone will have had this at some point in their lives. He is attending hypnotherapy sessions and even after his first one is a different person no more panic attacks and is actually smiling.

I know hypnotherapy sounds wacky but it truly does help and it is completely safe. It is an avenue that is worth exploring.
Hope this helps you as it has dramatically helped us. Just remember things can and will get better[/B][/SIZE]
