... ou get nervous. it completely calms you down. there are no other side effects. also if you need it to kick in quicker you can chew it a little and let it disolve under your tongue. goes right into your bloodstream that way so you dont have to wait. i have done that many times when i had a panic attack come on very quick. ... Hi Maria, yes you can take ativan as needed with any SSRI or other type of antidepressant, but if the antidepressant is working properly it will calm you so that not much ativan is needed its a good idea to always carry a few ativan tablets when out and disolve 1 under the tongue for panic or anxiety do also study some books on recovery from agoraphobia and panic... Hi Tchris the BP med if its a beta blocker will help with the physical problems, ativan or any other valium type med helps a lot, carry a few tablets with you when out and disolve 1 under the tongue if panicky again look up panic attack on the net, also fight or flight response the psych will probably want you to take an antidepressant med but do try to get some ativan also... Hi redrider you dont need to be depressed for lexapro to help with panic attacks with high blood pressure the best med is a beta blocker type which also reduces the physical problems of panic attacks, the other types dont but sadly this never seems to occur to docs so ask to be put on a beta blocker for your BP ativan as needed is quite OK, works faster if disolved under... Hi Missrane, klonapin ativan and xanax are all benzos and will always help you, it sometimes helps to take more on the bad days and less on the good days, always keep some tablets with you and disolve 1 under the tongue if you feel a panic attack coming on as you say, the early side effects from antidepressants can be strong, you dont need to be depressed for them to reduce...
