I would get another opinion. It just doesn't sound like PCOS to me, but I am not a dr. Before I was diagnosed, I rarely missed a period. I do recall missing them when I was in high school on the swim team. I passed that off to being very active and so does my OBGYN, and she is the one who diagnosed me. I had no noticible symptoms and even got pregnant before I was diagnosed. It was when I was trying to have another one that I found out I had issues. How did your GYN determine that your "eggs don't pop at the right time"? I know I can tell when I ovulate, because I get a severe cramp like feeling on one side when I do. Even on the metformin, I do not ovulate every month, even if I have a period. I had ultrasounds done to determine that there were cysts present. If you can, find another GYN, preferably at another practice, and get another opinion. That is the only way you will know for sure what is going on in your body.
