Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Board Index

Hi there,

I'm about 21 years old. In my 12 years, I have NEVER had regular periods...they usually are spread 40-50 days apart and some times I completely skip a month.

I went to the OBGYN a couple of month ago to figure out what was up (who then referred me to a specialist) and this is what I had done:
-ultrasound
-about 5 or so blood/hormone tests

In addition, I told her about how I have SEVERE cramps only on my right side...when I'm on my period, I don't feel any pain (cramps) on my left side, but the pain that I do feel on my right side is extremely sharp and seems to be right on top of my ovary. This sharp pain usually starts up 3 or 4 days before my period and lasts until my 3rd day. Not to mention, having bad acne, despite being on dermatologist prescribed acne medication for over 5 years.

Long story short, my ultrasound and blood work was just fine- nothing that would suggest PCOS. My doctor and the specialist is kind of stumped. They know I'm having PCOS-like symptoms, but my tests don't show it.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what's going on here?
THanks :)
