Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Board Index

About three weeks ago I was prescribed Provera to shed the lining of my uterus. The doctor I went to go see told me I had a condition where my uterus didn't send out an egg every month, I believe she called it PCOS. It had been about 9 months since I had experienced any sort of menstruation. I started my periods when I was 12, and they were never regular. I'd get them very very sporadically, and never for longer than 5 or 6 days. I am 19 now, and after taking Provera (10mg for 7 days) my period began. The same day I got my period I started on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, in hopes that it would regulate my periods. That was about 16 days ago, and I am still bleeding heavily, with rather large and persistent clotting. I get cramps almost every day, and I'm not able to sleep regularly. I am also on a few other prescriptions ( Celexa: 20mg a day for anxiety and depression, and Vitamin D pills: 50000IU a week for the next 8 weeks, and also 1000mg of Calcium a day.) I also might have hypothyroidism, but I need more blood testing done. Is there something wrong with me? Is this normal? I feel like something is wrong. I'm not sleeping, I'm hardly eating, and when I do sleep I am dead to the world for 10-14 hours at a time! Can anyone help? I'd go to the doctor, but I don't have insurance, and I have no where to go. I really need someone to tell me what is wrong with me! Please!
