... i am not an expert or a doctor but i do have some experience at fighting this crazy syndrome. you may want to find a new doctor. i say 2 gyno's and they said there was absolutely nothing they could do for the pcos. then i happened upon a doctor who's passion is skin but she has also become my regular md. ... ... Spironolactone is a diuretic and for some reasons it has hormonal properties to it. I dont even think doctors know why. Mine just new that the combination of Metformin and spiro worked for pcos. she's a genius as far as im concerned. I would definately inquire if your not getting good results. ... (21 replies)

... n the pill is not the only form of treatment. I cannot take the pill anymore because I ended up with multiple pulmonary emboli due to it. Right now I am taking Metformin and Spironolactone for the PCOS side effects. My skin is much much clearer, my periods are somewhat more "normal" and I've lost 10lbs. ... (2 replies)

... just a thought, if you cant find anything natural that works. i suffered for years before i found a doc that took one look at me and new what i needed. she put me on metformin and spironolactone. one is for blood sugar and the other is a diruetic that has hormonal properties to it. ...
