For me I had my 1st c-section because of a few things one was failure to progress, premature rupture of membranes and cephalopelvic disproportion (in otherwords the baby was too big to fit through the pelvis)

For our second I was given the option of VBAC (Vaginal birth after ceserean) and was looking forward to giving it a try as I too missed that part of birth allthough I had the full labor part already it was still disappointing.

At about 32 weeks gestation with our second I was told the baby was Large for gestational age, I had gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. At an ultrasound at 39 weeks I was told the baby was over 10lbs so I really needed another c-section because our daughter, first born, was 7lbs 11 ozs and wouldn't fit.

Good thing for the c-section our son was born 10lbs 1oz. Can't imagin what that would have felt like.

Now on our third and allthough it's been 5 years since my last surgery I'm having another c-section.

As for your wife, unless the delivery of your son was less than 2 years from the birth of this baby I don't think there is much risk of tearing with pushing.

But every where is different. Can't you try for a VBAC in the hospital there rather than a birthing center? I understand her wanting all nataural but I think she might settle for just a vaginal delivery somewhere safe if something should happen.

Take Care
Good Luck
Jessica
