Re: Nursing Bras
Jul 22, 2005
I'm 31 weeks pregnant and went to get measured for a nursing bra the other day. The advisor told me that they couldn't measure me for a nursing bra until about 3 weeks before the birth, but she did advise that I got a bigger maternity bra (I'm now a 40D!). She said it was a very scientific process (saleswoman speak for 'why sell you one bra when I can sell you 2?') but I managed to drag out of her that it is likely that your cup size (ie the letter) will increase by one size but the back size (ie the number) is likely to decrease by one size to allow for the bump dropping.

You need to take at least 2 bras into hospital with you, as you will need to wear them all day long, including at night, but your bust doesn't get bigger till about 3 days after the birth when the milk comes in. I've no idea what size to buy, but I think I'll probably just give in to sales pressure and do what she says.
