... in 36+weeks pregnant a couple of hours ago for about an hour i had regular pains and tightening about every 2-3 mins lasting about 30 seconds iv heard braxton hicks are irregular but can be painful so any ideas what this was im still getting tightenings but not as regular and the odd pain anyone experienced this (baby movements normal) (3 replies)

... n, they can get painful, but not till later in the third trimester. They are very common, and you can get them more often if this isn't your first pregnancy. ... Don't be terrified, I'm not going to lie to you but it does hurt like nothing you've ever felt but that's what medication is for and you can do alot with the breathing techniques. The long through the nose for five seconds and out through the mouth for five can work miracles. IF the baby is moving making it hurt worse, try patting his/her back and she/he might settle...
