... effaced, the doctor thought that stripping my membranes would def help but all it did was cause me unnecessary pain too!! i hated it! as for what works, i know its gonna sound ridiculous but nipple stimulation really does! ... (7 replies)

... I had the SAME fear. But there is a difference once labor really starts. The best way I can describe it is that with each contraction you can actually feel something bearing down and stretching. You can tell that your cervix is changing. You will also probably get to the point where you can't walk, talk, or sleep through the contractions. They have to be handled with... (21 replies)

... My sister had this done and said it was some what painful while they did it. It took a couple of days before she went into labor as I recall after doing it. So I guess it depends on your tolerance for pain. I dont think I would have it done. I would let nature take its course and when the baby is ready then he/she will come. Goodluck :p (13 replies)

... Thanks!! Well - of course, the worst for me was the delivery. After labor and the doctor "stripping my membranes" ouch!!! we finally delivered via c-section due to my baby boy presenting "face first".
