Cancer: Prostate Message Board

Cancer: Prostate Board Index

That sounds alot like my Dad. He was diagnosed in early 1999 and passed away August 13, 2004. He had about 4 really good years on the hormone therapy. It kept the cancer under control and he was able to work and live a normal life. In December 2002, PSA was rising with the cancer spreading throughout his bones and they didn't offer much hope. Got him to another oncologist who started him on chemo and he lived another 15 months. You just never know with this disease. We were told that usually Prostate Cancer is so slow growing that you usually die from something else, but he had a very agressive type so he was not the norm. Hope this info helps. If you have questions, would be glad to answer them.
