Cancer: Prostate Board Index

I will be more clear ...

I'm a 29 year old Caucasian male. I had one grandfather that had prostate cancer, but my father is fine (he is 57 years old). So, no, I have no first degree relatives that have had prostate cancer at an early age. I guess I have no risk factors.

Yes, I am aware that those items can cause an elevated PSA ... what I'm hoping for is that this issue is prostatitis. For now, my doctor has me on 500mg of Cipro twice daily for a month. He said he "doubts" it's cancer and more likely is an infection.

What I want to know from you folks is what do you think the likelihood that this is cancer? Is it small ... or very, very, small ... or larger? :) Sorry for being non-specific ... I am just terrified at the prospect of cancer.

Thanks much for your help.
