chemistry a science that deals with the composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the transformations that they undergo.
eightball, :)

venusgirl, I don't really know how to define it, and if it is necessary... for me too it's that "click" too. With some people you have it, with some people you don't. It is that simple.

Some guys just when you look in their eyes they make your knees all wobbly and your heart go boooom! And if you are still functioning you can talk about anything and it comes out right and you understand one another. The air is thick and you can almost read each other's thoughts. At least that's what you think... while the guy is thinking, "I need to pick up my car from the service".... LOL.

I've noticed this with other women too, there are some women that I meet in everydayish situations, who I will instantly like and can always find something to talk about. This probably doesn't have to do with your actual question though and if you didn't notice from above, I am 100% straight!

Guys may be interested in this: most women, when they meet a guy the first time, during the first 10 seconds or so they can tell whether they'll ever have sex with that guy or not.
I don't remember where I read this, but thinking of the guys I have known, I'd say this is quite accurate!

Whether it is scientific or just a legend, please don't ask!

I know what you mean RosaMay. Some people you just like instantenously, and some you don't. Including friends of the same sex. It's a different kind of "click" but it still has to be there. I just wish that chemistry or the lack of it was always mutual. The worst part is when, for instance, you think the guy is awesome and he makes you weak in the knees but it's not reciprocated, and vice versa: a guy you're not crazy about is completely gaga over you. Both situations are frustrating and completely useless. But I guess since we wouldn't even dream about trying to force friendship with someone we are not naturally drawn to, the same should be true in a romantic situation. I usually feel so guilty when a guy who is really interested in me and NICE doesn't do anything for me as far as attraction goes. But let's face it, how could it ever work? Chemistry--such a mysterious thing and yet without it, life would be so dull :)
A relationship can look great on paper, but you get the two people together, and zippo going on.
Oh my god you are SOOOOOO right!!!

I remember I used to think my type of guy was educated, able to hold an intelligent conversation, organized, responsible and then when I met my ex.....BOOOM...a total goofball who was messy, disorganized, silly, had never read a book, didn't really know much about academics but BOY did he have the most amazing character - kind, loyal, funny, hot, stylish, friendly, loving, not an ounze of arrogance and could have hours of profound conversation or silly chit chat equally well!!!

If i'd have looked at his 'on paper' stats I maybe wouldn't have been interested but he was (is) the most incredible person I've ever met.

Ie

religion

me: atheist, not superstitious ex: catholic, very superstitious

food

me: healthy, veggie ex: junk food, meat lover

academicl

me: love books, love learning, love college ex: hates books, hates reading (doesn't even like movies with subtitles coz he has to read!!! haha)

political

me: liberal (center) ex: conservative (though not a Republican!!)

hobbies

me: lots, love to try new stuff ex: hates new stuff, prefers couch, tv and takeout pizza

organization

me: reliable, organized, punctual ex: "what did i do with my...." "I'm running late" "now where did I put that ticket/key/number?...."

music

me: please, no hip hop first thing in the morning ex: hip hop first thing in morning

[
so, as you can see, whats on paper means very little.
