Celine,

This is what you call a controlling person, in this case, a controlling man! If this is what you are experiencing now only after 10 months.....RUN AWAY as fast as your legs can carry you.

I speak from experience......it starts out that way, the jealousy of past relationships you've had (just be sure that you are truly not giving him a reason to be jealous though), blaming you for things, accusing you of things, your honesty being thrown back in your face by him, etc.

These are what's called 'warning signs", or 'red flags', or 'hints' of the beginning of a potentially verbally and/or a physically abusive relationship. I should know.....I've recently gotten a restraining order against the man that I love very much.

He won't cooperate in communicating differently because he probably doesn't know how to communicate differently. It's 'do as I say', 'when I say you should and every thing will be fine'. Guess what, it won't be fine because his type will always find something wrong with you, about you, blame you and hold you responsibile for everything that goes wrong in the relationship.

And, if that's not bad enough, your self esteem will dwindle down to nothing and, you will actually start believing him.....and his trap will have been successfully set!

Please don't confuse these things he does with 'love'. :nono: I've made that mistake, paid for it dearly, and I'm still trying to finalize the end, legally (even though we were never married....just lived together) and still struggling emotionally.

If you don't believe me, read some of my other posts here just to get a sense of what I'm talking about, and there are other posts here too that deal with the same issue. Or, try attending a domestic violence support group at least once or twice to talk with others about what you are experiencing and listen to their stories. You could also try calling a domestic violence hotline if you don't want to meet in person with anyone just yet.

I'm not saying that your man is going to physically abuse you....I just saying some of the beginning signs are DEFINITELY there!

Be wise, be smart.....be smarter than I was and educate yourself! Please consider doing this!!!!!

I hope I haven't been too harsh...but, if I was just harsh enough for you to really look at the situation you are currently in and if it helps you be safer, then I'm glad if I was harsh! :bouncing:

Please post back and let us know how you are doing. I'll be looking for your posts! Gosh, I hope that doesn't sound like I'm stalking you or anything! :jester:

Gianna
