Relationship Health Message Board

Relationship Health Board Index

Yeah, Brook is so right--it's hard to get over someone, and honestly, it just takes time and patience. Don't be so tough on yourself in the meantime, because you're doing the best you can. It's normal to feel down and miss someone after a breakup, but hopefully you can also take some little steps toward doing things you enjoy and thus feeling better about yourself. But for the time being, I think you need to be kinder and more patient with yourself--don't expect too much too soon. And don't be shy about posting what you feel, because that's what these boards are here for!
I think you are being too hard on yourself, why should you think that people don't want to talk to you and hang out with you? Someone just has to make the first move, put in some effort, for anything social to be accomplished. I really think you should keep trying to make friends, hang out with friends, have fun, do stuff, etc. in whatever way you want--don't get discouraged and give up just because something hasn't worked out the way you'd hoped. You are a great person with lots to offer, and you have to think positively that people will want to hang out with you and get to know you, because if you believe that, you will be a confident and likable person. Try to avoid being negative when it comes to thinking about yourself and especially your future. Keep us updated, OK?
