Hi Donna,

I'm sorry you are going through this. Can I ask how long you have been married?

I was in a similar situation many years ago (about 10 years ago). I was married for about 6-1/2 years. My husband had lost his job and he was down. During dinner one night he told me (as he cried) that he didn't want to be married anymore. He said he loved me but wasn't in love with me. Of course we blamed it on the loss of his job and his feeling worthless but in the end....I found out he had met someone else. We separated for about 6 weeks and tried to make it work. We got back together and we stayed together for another 2 years and he cheated on me again. At that we ended the marriage. He dated this second woman for about 5 years and they ended up splitting up. He never got remarried and ended up getting sick with heart trouble, sugar, etc. He is now alone. Remember it isn't anything you have done wrong. If you find out your husband did meeting someone else, also remember that the grass always looks greener and it usually turns out not to be.

Be sure that he is not seeing someone else. If you have any doubts come out and ask him. If he is not and you are absolutely certain, keep working at counseling, it usually helps.

Good luck and stay strong, you have a long road ahead of you!
