I don't know how old you are, but I'm in my early 40s. I am also ethnic and have cocoa butter colored skin and curly black hair, which I hated as a child. But you know what? As I got older, the more guys thought I was "exotic"! I am also not as thin as I used to be and the guy I dated loved it when I put on 15 pounds. He loved the curves and hated skinny bones. He said "it's about time, I love having something to grab on to!". I know so many men who love "exotic" women because it's something different, or they just love the look, or love being around someone of another culture. I dated a guy who'd never dated a Hispanic woman before, or had any Hispanic friends (!) and I gave him a taste for them. We're not dating anymore but now he loves the ethnic women.

As far as meeting men, I am soon to be living alone and newly unattached. I plan to take dancing lessons and am thinking about looking into a class or group for hiking, which I love but don't get to do. I also love to try new restaurants and there's a local singles group whose quest is to get together and try new places. I'm probably going to join. I think you're on the right track with dancing lessons because you enjoy it. Do you like pets? Many people bond over their dogs at dog parks, or at obedience training. I advise you find something you love to do and seek out a group that loves the same thing!
redneon82,

I have also been refereed to as exotic. Sometimes i don't know if that is good or bad...i say that b/c of this....i work out at the hospital's gym for employees and i met a guy there....anyways he asked me out and we had a really good time. he is white and comes from a traditional upper class family. Anyways he loved me b/c i was bi-racial and i like all types of food, i love to dance, i love to go to "different" events throughout the community (i.e. the Japanese festival) but after our third date i found out he had a girlfriend! :O i know all men aren't like that, but that kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

Anyways i am sorry to hear about your breakup but glad to hear you have a plan to fill your time!
