Does the new guy know that you are interested in him? Is he interested in you?
Yes, there is definitely chemistry. He is into me and I am into him. I wasn't specifically looking for a new relationship (not that we're in a relationship yet), but this all just sort of happened. I like him A LOT and I really don't want to scare him off. I think I just won't bring it up at all, but I'm debating on what to say if he brings it up. I think I'll keep things very general...like "we broke up earlier this year??" Do you think this is too sneaky? I mean I'm moving hundreds of miles away from the old bf - it's got to be clear that I'm done with him. I wasn't sure if guys really looked negatively at things like this - don't they just care that I'm single and not interested in the the old bf? I mean how many months would it take for a guy to be OK with dating me after the break??

It depends on the guy, some guys will completely ignore the vagueness and just be happy that a girl is available, while some guys will find the vagueness odd and can view it negatively, since if a girl can be vague about a past relationship, what else can she be vague about. Of course this doesn't just apply to one gender, but anyone.

Nevertheless, to completely avoid any confusion or potential mistrust, just be honest if the topic comes up. Also adding that you are not interested in the old bf and you have moved on will be helpful, because like women, men don't wish to deal with another person's ex-relationship drama.

It depends on the guy, but mostly on your sincerity. I personally tend to get to know a girl first before committing to chasing her. Some guys agree with this, others don't care the least. To avoid an extra layer of complexity to the dating dance, just be honest but succinct. Again, only if the topic comes up. Otherwise, just advertise to this guy that you are available, which most of the time is enough for a guy.
