Restless Leg Syndrome Message Board

Restless Leg Syndrome Board Index

while it may be rare, I have Restless Leg Syndrome up into my "body" as well. it started radiating up into my torso, arms (and I even get the creepy crawly feeling in my chest) about 5 years ago.

this is the absolute worst affliction ever. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Where it used to be only in my legs, and start around 10 at night, now I can feel it throughout both my legs and my arms and it starts around noon. I have tried every single remedy. Mirapex, requipe, gababentin, cinamet, nothing works except one thing - - opiates.

my delima is that, probably due to the Restless Leg, I suffer from severe depression. I have bounced around the country often, always hoping the grass will be greener. But that also makes getting opiates harder. each doctor gives me this look, the "u r drug seeking" look. Even though I can produce my records. I also, for long periods of time, had to go to health clinics because I wasn't working and they are almost impossible to get proper meds from.

I finally had to resort to getting on methadone maintenance. That's right, you heard me correctly. a doctor who i worked with at one point recommended that route. I called to tell him that I couldn't get places to prescribe and that's what he recommended. because no matter where you go, you can always get on methadone maintenance.

It's so sad. I hate methadone. it gives me awful constipation and it stereotypes me even though I don't go for the traditional reasons. But I don't know what else to do. because the second that methadone leaves my system, it's back on me so bad that I want to kill myself. I've thought about it many nights.
