However, if I still can fall asleep, I take a... (0 replies)

... "Restless Legs Syndrome". That's the diagnosis I received from my good Christian doctor yesterday. She is a wonderful doctor too. A delightful sense of humor, a willingness to actually listen to the patient and she even wrote a Bible verse on my prescription!. Pretty cool stuff, eh?. Anyway, so as to provide a little background, please allow me to share the letter I gave to... (4 replies)

... Our brains are anemic (no iron reserve), not really our bodies. We with RLS that is. That lack of iron has caused us to have a lousy dopamine transport system. The vast majority of the world can take melatonin, antidepressants and antihistamines and never feel so much as a twinge of RLS. We can't because those things compete with dopamine and we already have so little... (4 replies)

... I asked my doctor about this yeterday and he confirmed that RLS can be in the feet. Since it only seems to happen when I use certain medications, his advice was just to avoid those triggers. Last night, I had a slight case of it after drinking a beer. I guess I'll have to watch that. Maybe I'll just switch to Margaritas. (4 replies)
... Your symptoms are exactly like mine. My doctor says it's RLS. I get up and walk around to calm it down for awhile. I have the same urge to press the bottoms of my feet against something. I don't have it every night, in fact most nights I don't have it, but when I do it's very hard to get asleep. (4 replies)
... I don't know, but I think I read that even though RLS is most common in the legs, that it can affect other parts of the body as well. It sure does sound like RLS, especially when you mentioned the Tylenol PM. That stuff will send my RLS into a frenzy. (4 replies)
