Hello again inana. To answer you questions....David is on Gabapentin 3,200 mgs daily with Tramadol, and Peroxicam. His BP is also affected so he has a diuretic too. He has had one Guanethidine block early on, which he still believes started the spread, but of course we don't know that for sure. Until recently when he had shoulder and chest problems his pain levels were manageable. Unfortunately he has had a flare up and he is about to have a stellate ganglion block Here in the UK they don't talk about remission any more, but about plateaux. That usually means that the florid signs of RSD have abated, but not the pain. At the moment, the in thing is hyperbaric oxygen therapy, because there are many new studies going on about RSD and blood cells. There is also a trial on high doses of Vitamin C.

All of the intakes here for the trials are for those who have had RSD for only a short time. David has had his for over five years, so he is not eligible.

Do let us know how you go on.

Hugs,
Edna

I hope that your son will be feeling better. As a mom myself, I know how hard and frustrating it must be for you to see him like this.
My prayers and thought are with you and David. I hope that this treatment works for him.

Fondly, Inana
