Re: Pain

it feels like there is a menthol on my skin. that's it.
I read that a person can get rsd from venipuncture but that it is rare. I am a 30 year old healthy female. this is scaring me.

*Hugs* Hmmm....I don't know about that kind of feeling, but there might be someone out there that has felt that. We have RSD but every one of us experiences things a bit differently. Contrary to what some "doctors" say, you don't have to have the textbook signs of rsd to have it. That's what makes it so difficult imo. You can have rsd someplace yet have no color change or swelling or even any skin temp difference.

I think when it comes to a nerve that what needs to be investigated First is nerve damage which can cause pain and other things or some kind of nerve impingement thing. I've read of many cases of supposed rsd that was actually nerve impingement! Once an operation was done and the nerve freed, everything stopped for them and was ok.

Only a doc, probably a Neuro, could say for sure. Unless it's very obvious RSD, everything and anything should be done to rule out all other problems before dx'ing rsd. Have you seen a doc or docs and if so what has been said?

Hugs,

Karen
