Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) (CRPS) Board Index

Hi Carol,
My RSD started in my left knee, following MVA in January 2006. I had lumbar sympathetic nerve blocks done and had the lower back pain after, as well. It's fairly common to have pain because it's invasive. If they didn't measure the temp in each leg, IMO it's really of no use for RSD. I've had both epi and blocks and they can be a little painful afterward in the coccyx region. As long as you don't have RSD in your lower back (I do), try some ice right after the injections. Do you have any history of lower back troubles? Do you still have the pain?

Being on WC, you're probably limited in who you can see and the treatments you can get. Fight until you can get to a Dr. who knows RSD. Before you make an appointment, ask if the Dr. is familiar with RSD and what treatments he/she uses for your problem.

Best of luck and hope you feel better soon,
Vicki
