Re: RSD help
Apr 9, 2011
Hi Knave, the block you need for RSD in the foot is a lumbar sympathetic nerve block, My pain management dr would put me to sleep for mine, my doctor would have me lay on my belly and use a fludroscopic xray to guide the needle in the lower mid back on my left side, my left foot and leg have RSD, I never felt a thing was able to walk out with out any help after the anethesia wore off, my back was never sore, How ever for my right hand arm I get sympathetic stellate ganglion nerve block, which again I am put to sleep and under fludroscopic xray he guides a needle into the front right side of my neck, these blocks tend to leave my right side face sore, jaw aches, nose gets stuffy and my right eye droops for a few hours (this is all normal for the stellate ganglion nerve block). I would start asking about these right away they could put your RSD into remission if done soon enough, and if your lucky!
good luck Kelly
