I'm sorry but for someone to type that there is a cure for rsd is a really stupid thing to type! Not only is this person providing false hopes to patients that are seeking answers but it also shows that these people are clearly not doing their research. Uneducated to say the least. RSD patients get desperate for answers! They don't need someone typing, there is a cure!!!

As for remission, remission means the state of ABSENCE of disease activity in patients with a chronic illness. So do tell how RSD goes into remission again since rsd is a neuropathic disease? Since the nerves are affected and misfiring, how does it stop misfiring? IT DOESN'T- It is medically impossible to stop the Ganglion Nerve from taking over the Sympathetic nerve impulses- Once the Ganglion Nerve takes over, THAT's IT! OVER! DONE! COOKED! What ever phrase you would like to use.
Irreversable is my choice word!

A very good friend of mine has had RSd for 15 years she was in remission for 12 until a car accident minor one caused her some bumps and bruises but also, woke up her RSd and she went full body within a year. so remission is possible and hope is always a good thing to hold onto for us RSDers and shouldnt be squashed.

I know but someone can't say that there is a cure or there is remission. Remission would mean that the disease is gone. RSD is not gone. And hope, that I have but with the way doctors treat RSD patients, how much hope do you have in a doctor who says to you, I can not help you and sends you off with a script for morphine? Or another medicine? Or tests like EMG's? So Mid evil! How is there hope in being a Guinea pig? No one knows about this disease! We all look normal on the outside and that's all people see! When I use a wheel chair in the store, I am looked down apon and that kinda hurts taking in my age because right now, I am in my PRIME! I was going 150 miles an hour in my life down to a five mile crawl. I am not trying to "Squash" anything. Not feeling that way at all......
Definition for remission A diminution of the seriousness or intensity of disease or pain ; a temporary recovery. Remission means more like asleep not gone. people with cancer who are in remission have a chance of cancer returning, thats usually why its called remission and not cured. Theres hope in trying everything you can because you may just come across the thing that works for you. And with out hope I think I would be a completely and utterly depressed person with no will to live. I know about being looked at funny for being in wheel chair even now after my scs I must use a cane and people always look funny at me let them look who cares I have enough on plate to worry about what others think I look like. And if you dont have hope or faith in your doctor than find another one, I do not know where you live. but there are some very knowledgable docs out there, who care.

Remission means absence. Lets agree to disagree. The majority of the doctors out there do not care. They just simply do not care and thats what the problem is. Then there are the doctors who have tunnel vision. ONE TREATMENT, here it is. And then there are even less doctors who really give a ..... Know that you have a terrible disease. Becoming like an advocate of sorts. And I finally found him but the doctors in between simply did not care nor did they want to. All they saw was a train wreck, a girl who got into not one but two non fault accidents which caused this hot mess. Some pretended to know but I can't fly with that. I have to travel 3 hours to see my PM but it's worth it. It was the cost of time in finding him which ALWAYS leads to a delay in treatment that is needed. And to let someone suffer, period, you have to have hope and forge on. There is no other way to live, living with rsd. Everything has to change. Finding these doctors that you speak of are rare.
