Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) (CRPS) Board Index

Hi there -- sorry for the terrible news. I was diagnosed about a year and a half ago, now completely medication free and very little pain in my CRPS limb. So, there's hope!

I'm in Northern California, diagnosed at Stanford initially, but didn't care for their pain management department. I was treated at UCSF, which was a much more positive experience. I aggressively pursued treatment: sympathetic nerve blocks, Neurontin, pain medications, Vitamin C, Omega oils, alpha lipoic acid, acupuncture, and a specialized physical therapist.

You might also think about mirror-box therapy, if your pain is severe. It was developed for amputees. There are some good videos out there -- you are essentially watching your unaffected limb in a mirror to rewire your brain.

Best of luck.
