It has been a whole month since my husband has had is permanent SCS implanted. There was significant swelling and bruising. The pain relief in his legs is successful, but I don't think he was expecting so much pain in his back where the device is located. The Dr.s plan on having him back to work September 25th. I hope he is less painful in his back or I don't think he will be able to work. He loads and unloads pallets from trucks. Sometimes it requires him to re-stack the pallets. For a couple more weeks he has a bending over restriction. Has anyone had this done know how long it was until the pain in their back had receded? The Dr.s gave him a return to work date of September 25 and won't have an appointment until the 30th. How can a Dr. give him a return to work date with out seeing him first?
I certainly wouldn't want to push myself after such an invasive surgery it takes 2 full months to recover and then your life changes with the restrictions no heavy lifting , jaring , bending , he could break a lead and end up back on the surgery table please talk to your doctor
