... Hi Delta, yes it sounds like spread to me, ask for a lumbar sympathetic nerve block right away! When my RSD spread to my left hand and arm I got a nerve block just a week later, and it really helped. my left hand has RSD but I do not have any bad symptoms there. ... (12 replies)

... Hi Wendy, No amputation will not help. When I first found out what I have, I asked my doc about amputation. He told me that many years ago they used to do this for people with RSD, only to find out that you still have the pain just as if you still had your leg. Also it causes the RSD to spread rapidly. ... ... It's hard when family won't listen, but getting them to read about what rsd and trying to get them to understand as much as they can helps.
