... I was told my my PM Dr that even if the 1st one doesn't work or last that they are usually done in a series. I had 3 in my cervical area called stellate ganglion nerve block. It helped. each one lasted longer than the one prior. Only slight flare ups in my hand. ... (14 replies)
... was just sitting in the hospital bed bored out of his mind. They discharged him the next day. We had no idea the pain would return so quickly. I had the epi's you know, June and Sept last year, didnt do anything so pm has scrapped them, he now wants to do a sympathetic nerve block, i'm a bit sceptical, but hope it does some good, he also talked of a dorsal fin stimulator, i guess its a type of scs which will deal with after snb. ... ... Hi Jenny, My husband had 3 stellate ganglion blocks for RSD in his right hand. The first one was ok with pain relief lasting for about a day and a half. The second one didn't do anything for him and the third one relieved his pain for about a day. He also had an inpatient epidural catheter in his back for 4 days. ... to talk about what he thinks. I value his opinion just had to wait 2 months for an appointment. The PM dr wants to do a EMG to test for nerve damage and then the Stellate Ganglion Block. I have had cervical epidurals and selective nerve blocks prior to my surgery. ... (8 replies)

... also used some kind of xray to make sure they were in the correct placement. Cant tell you much more because I was loopey luney tunes from the meds. Only the 1st block worked in my mind. ... (8 replies)
