... Not an easy question to answer. I may be wrong but I believe schizoaffective means that, for at least two weeks, the psychocis is without prominent mood symptoms. Diagnosing schizoaffective seems more art than science, though. I assume schizoaffective psychosis can include so-called negative symptoms of schizophrenia and bi-polar psychocis does not. ... est though so I would stick with what they're saying vs. your mother. If I listened to my mom I would probably be way worse that what I am now. As for your case schizophrenia can get worse over the years, especially if it's not treated. So stick to your treatments and bring up any concerns you have to your doctor. ... (4 replies)
