... You definitely show some red flags of psychosis, and I do believe these flags should be treated. The paranoid dellusions, intense general and social anxiety and of coarse these voices need to be delt with, especially since they are getting increasingly worse. You say you have Major Depression? Do the paranoia, voices only occur when deppressed? Think about it. And if so,... (5 replies)

... What you describe could indeed be your brain becoming slower, or damaged. But you must also know, Schizphrenia alone is damaging to the brain, causing thse same symptoms. Sometimes they last for a short time, or in one or several episodes, sometimes they're permanent. ... (14 replies)
... Hi Frankie, I think the best news about your diagnosis is that you seem to KNOW you have a problem. My boyfriend also has drug induced SZ, but he tells me that he feels perfectly sane. Unfortunately he clearly is not sane. I believe that in the UK (as well as in other countries such as Japan) there is a movement away from the "schizphrenia" diagnosis, because it's thought... ... I started having symptoms of schizophrenia when i was 3 years old (hearing voices/seeing things). But at that time, i was too young to understand any of what was going on or know there was anything wrong to be able to tell someone. as the years went by, i stopped hallucinating, but became paranoid. By the time i was 9 years old, i was delusional. I believed people were putting... (12 replies)
... To be honest, I've never heard this specific research. But to put a personal experience in, I have trouble with "naming that smell". Although I can recognize them EXTREMELY well. I'll usually make up a name for the smell or associate it with where I am at on that moment. But years later I can say "this place smells like 'restaurant name''s in Atlanta Georgia that one summer... (2 replies)

Last week he told me he didnt want a... (9 replies)
... I am just curious about people's experiences with this illness. When I look up the "facts", it just seems like someone can wake up with it. I'm wondering when some of the posters were diagnosed. Did you realize you had something wrong? I'm very uneducated when it comes to schizphrenia. I have ocd, and this illness is close to the top of my obsession list. I worry... (12 replies)
... I saw my therapist today and, after letting all my fears be known, she told me I don't have schizphrenia and that I can stop worrying about it. ... (13 replies)
... The symptoms you describe don't necessarily indicate schizophrenia. Auditory hallucinations during the transition period of consiousness and sleep are quite normal. Sometimes they are the symptom of a sleep disorder, but most people experience them from time to time. You can talk to a doctor about those since you don't seem to like them. As far as suddenly jumping at things... (4 replies)

... Hi Saz First the agency you contacted may have been referring to full blown schizphrenia. You right most people here are able to communicate. Im no doctor but I be willing to bet if you were to be evaluated you would in deed have schizophenia. Im 48 yrs old Bipolar with pychosis a combo between schizophenia and OCD and can sympathize with everything on your list of... (13 replies)

... Hello Robin, I'm not a doctor but from your description it sounds like catatonia. My son had this same symptom of sitting down and standing up. It's sad to see this. My son has had this when he is very psychotic and unmedicated. It was a symptom before his first treatment with medication. Here is a description I found on the web: "Catatonic excitement consists of... (4 replies)
