... your mother was extremely lucky to have had for 2 year and only have melanoma in situ! She is one very lucky woman indeed! Chances are, it wasn't melanoma all long, but was probably an abnormal mole that was in the process of becoming melanoma. But that's just my guess. ... (5 replies)

... Hey there, Well i must say that i think that you would have noticed some change in the mole if it has been at least three years. My guess it would be noticeable change. It only takes a few minutes to cut off a mole and doesnt even really hurt as well. So i dont think it is a big deal your new derm wanted to do this. ... veloping in a short amount of time does not necessarily mean it is cancerous. And even a mole that changes does not mean it is melanoma. Please keep in mind that melanoma is actually not the most common of skin cancers, and most biopsies come back negative. ... (1 replies)

She said in the majority of melanoma cases that are advanced stage, the mole is usually deeper than the one I had. When she removed mine, she said the fatty tissue underneath looked normal. ... ... or two ago and thought nothing of it. Then about two weeks ago I found a new mole on my leg so I went to go get it checked out. The dermatologist said everything looked fine but she scraped a few things off anyway. ... (4 replies)

... irregular Borders, Color changes and Diameter. You have noticed that it is a little assymetrical and the borders are a little irregular. This could be a sign of melanoma but of course this could have been there for awhile and looked the same for a few years and you just havent noticed it ever. ... (4 replies)
