Dreams?

Okay, so I'm finally going to ask the questions I should of asked a long time ago.

So I'm 19, and I've had these kind of problems for as long as I can remember. I' graduated school last year and have had the year off and I currently don't work, so basically I have nothing to do throughout the day. I go to sleep usually between 2-3am and I sleep almost always for 12 hours or at least 10.

When I was in school I use to only sleep anywhere from 6-9 hours and I would be really tired all morning and incredibly hard to get out of bed. Now what happens since I can sleep as long as I want, I'll end up sleeping for about lets say 8 hours, sometimes it's 6, 7 or 9, but anyways I'll wake up, feeling really tired and I'll then go back to sleep, usually within 30 seconds - 2 mins.

This is where it gets really weird, as soon as I fall asleep I dream. I could dream for 15 mins, let's say from 2pm to 2:15pm I'll have a dream, wake up, and feel terrible, worse then the first time i woke up, i can't think really, all I can see, feel and remember is the dream i had, and I'll immediately pass back out because my buddy wants me to sleep.

So now, I pass out again and guess what? Back into dreaming, not only that, but the same dream, trying dreaming about being in Prison and doing this 3-4 times before finally getting up. Finally I usually end up looking at the time on my final wake up realizing i've slept for 12 hours, I feel a little more rested but at the same time very groggy and nasty feeling but i know i have to get up cause hell it's been 12 hours.

What's going on, is any of this normal? From the sounds of it, I would think maybe i should force my self to get up at 8 since that seems to be the time i don't feel the worse, however i'm still really tired and end up passing out quickly anyways, and i want to feel rested when i wake up not crappy. I go to bed pretty much the same time every night, 2-3 am, so I don't understand what's going on, and now I'm wondering if I really should do a sleep study or try a schedule for a bit, maybe i only need 5 hours of sleep the thing is i don't know.

Help me out guys this really affects me in so many things I've wasted a year away sleeping.
