Im a 19 year old girl with TERRIBLE anxiety disorder. I'm not on any medication besides a ton of benzos that are prescribed to me to only take as needed such as Xanax or Valium. I'm not overweight.. Or a smoker.. Ok drinker.. I don't really carry any of the risk factors.. But here is the problem

About 6 months ago I had my first sleep apnea attack.. I was first having a really bad panic attack all night long that lasted until around 5 am.. I was EXHAUSTED I could not keep my eyes open.. Every time I would just start to drift to sleep I would JUMP out of my bed because I would stop breathing for what seemed like a minute

This happened repeatedly through the night until my body was so exhausted I guess I jut passed out

It didn't really happen again for a very long time, now recently about 3 days ago I had a bad anxiety episode and was up until 730 am panicking, I thought of that one time I had the breathing problem and I got so scared that it was probably going to happen again because my body was so exhausted that I was going to stop breathing in my sleep and suffocate

Well guess what, it did happen, as I drifted to sleep my body kept jolting upward struggling to catch my breath and my heart was pounding.. I was so so so scared

Now every night I'm afraid to try to fall asleep because I think that it's going to happen

It is now 5:02 am and I feel like I think about it so much that I MAKE it happen.. I just took a benzo to calm me down because they're the only thing that helps

My question is.l do I have sleep apnea in general, do I have it because of my anxiety ( if that's even possible) or is this just panic attacks that Mimi's sleep apnea..

Also once I actually get going on sleeping I don't wake up from that anymore all night which is what I find strange, and I feel like its happening be ause I think about it every night

IM SO SORRY BOUT HOW LONG THIS IS BUT I REALLY NEED ADVICE.. I ASKED A DOCTOR AT THE ER AND HE THINKS IT'S PANIC ATTACKS IN MY SLEEP BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE BECAUSEMIM RELAXED WHEN IM SLEEPING

PLEASE HELP ME. GOD BLESS.
