... My whole life I would wake up feeling super groggy and tired but lately I have been waking up not groggy at all but still getting 6-7 hours of sleep. I actually went ahead and tried 50 mg extended release - it did put me to sleep but I felt awful the next morning - didn't want to get out of bed, groggy, no energy, head ache etc. So I talked to my psychiatrist again and we are going to try 25 mg (not extended release) and see if I feel less "hungover" in the morning. ... Unfortunately, Trazadone does not maintain your normal sleep architecture. This is why many people can wake up not feeling as if they have slept. I would consult with your MD and ask for a sleep aid that preserves your natural sleep architecture... ... (9 replies)

... n seroquel for about 10 years on huge doses. it did help but i want off now and i cant without withdrawals. but i've never had any problem getting up or feeling groggy the next day. you should be ok on a low dose. but good luck getting off if you ever want too. ... (5 replies)

... It's hard to say whether Trazodone will help. It tends to help with sleep duration, and is generally non-addicting. It won't completely knock you out like benzos and ambien though.
