... Thanks for your response. I don't what kind of sleep disorder you have but I am surprised that you are on that high of a dose. My psychiatrist as well as the pharmacist I spoke to about taking seroquel said that the maximum dose for sleep is 50 mg - higher does in the range of 150 are used to treat depression and much higher doses than that are used to treat mental illness... ... ighest dose of whatever to work. during my worst time on ambien, i was starting out at 30 mg and just kept taking pills until i was up to 100 mg a day. so most sleeping drugs that can work, just dont on normal doseages. and i cant become addicted to sleeping meds again, it was a nightmare. ... ... I wouldn't take it, it's a major tranquilizer and quite bad for the nervous system. THree mgs. Ativan and still have sleep trouble? That might be the key. Ativan and other benzos(or benzo like sleep meds) are great for sleep but over time they actually can worsen pre-existing insomnia conditions. ... ello. that's a very good question. if you check here there is a girl from australia who takes 100mg serequel for sleep each night. she just couldn't stand taking sleeping meds which gives her 3 hours of sleep each night only.3 hours of sleep each night is not enough as we know it. ... ... Thanks for the reply. My doctors do not know why I cant sleep. I've had a sleep study done that shows no abnormalities such as apnea. Think this is why they made the diagnosis of Idiopathic - because it's unexplained and lifelong. (Think the current theory is that people with this diagnosis have an overactive wake system or underactive sleep system...) I don't believe... (8 replies)
