... an antidepressant med called trazodone is available in some places it can be used as a sleeping pill as it often sedates people strongly when taken so may well get you off to sleep. Take it just before bed, its non addictive and often works for a long time without needing the dose upped It usually works OK if you are already on another antidepressant med daily (0 replies)
... I have been using Trazadone with great success for many years. The greatest thing about Trazadone is it is non-habit forming...non-addictive! That is why my doctor chooses it. The one thing that you may notice is the dreams...vivid and amazing dreams-which I love! These are not nightmares, but just fantastic dreams that are unforgettable. I fly every night, over... ... Well if you don't want addictive meds, than you can't beat 200/ 400 MGs of Seroquel and 100 MGs of Trazodone. I don't care how bad an insomniac you are...you will be lights out in about one hour. And you better allow at least 8 hours for sleep. Other than that you can go with the benzo Halcion...but most doctors won't let you have it for more than a few days. Plus it has a... (7 replies)
Help

... Trazodone works really well. It's an antidepressant used for sleep. It's really cheap too and not addictive. I was using valium for awhile, but was starting to build up a tolerance, so now I'm going back to Trazodone. You might ask your doctor about it. Don't try Lunesta--it didn't work at all for me. I would doze off for an hour or two, wake up, and could not get back... (2 replies)

... Yea, I'm on Ambien currently. I used to be on Trazodone about a year ago, both for depression and chronic insomnia. The 100mg of Trazodone knocked me out alright, but it made me hibernate. I'd fall asleep, but no matter how long or how deeply I slept, I couldn't wake up to save my life. ... (17 replies)

... If your doctor refuses to give you Ambien (and you didn't previously have a bad experience on them) then it's quite possible you should start seeing a new doctor. I had a wonderful doctor who left the practice only to be replaced by some unfeeling, uncaring hack who wouldn't give me ANY help. In fact, she said she was "uncomfortable" treating me and wanted me to stop seeing... (6 replies)
