... My husband has been on Chanix for 15 days now and he has all the side effects! The first few days he was ok. Then once he started the 2 dose a day he became moody. ... (25 replies)
... For me the craving last about 5 minutes. Have you tried any other things besides Chantix. I myself tried Chanix for about 3 weeks and then i felt so depressed and it never made me not smoke.I stopped the Chanix right then . I am know 4 months cig free and use the patches. ... (9 replies)

... Maybe because not everyone has mood swings from Chantix and maybe because it works? (4 replies)

... Sangercat, I'm sorry you feel so bad. You need help and need it now. Run don't walk to the nearest mental health professional. You can dig out of that dark hole but you need a helping hand. Please don't wait any longer. (25 replies)
... Wow, this thread popped up in a search I was doing for something totally unrelated, I had forgotten all about it.So why not an update... well here I am almost 1 year later to the day at 4:12am depressed and wide awake. I have been off work since October and have 0 motivation in life. I have always been an upbeat and DRIVEN person, I had so many friends it was almost annoying... (25 replies)
... OH, this is just what IS happening to me. I am a high strung type A but have lost it all. I have no pleasure in anything and am content on just lying in bed watching tv. Did you quit? Is it worth this? I am a drug rep and know all about side effects and what the FDA makes you say, but, I do not recall the depression being spoken. (25 replies)
... Thank you for saying this. I am a women but you described me. I was fun loving, could never sit still and now I have no motivation. I am torn, it is helping me not want to smoke but I am so depressed no one can stand me. I have lost all my "jazz". I really don't care about anything. At least I know now what could be causing it. I thought I was just crazy. thanks again,... (25 replies)

... Chantix blocks the nicotine from reaching certain parts of your brain that give you a pleasurable response to it so could it be that you're already having withdrawls before you actually quit smoking? My quit date is April 14 with or without it but I'd really like to give it a try. Been holding on to my prescription for it because I'm already moody enough. lol (25 replies)
... I couldn't agree more about the emotions and anger. I couldn't tell whether is was the chantix or nicotine withdrawal. But woah did i fly into a RAGE one day, I broke things and cut up my hand punching a door. Add the nausea to that and I couldn't imagine taking it twice a day for weeks on end. I think for most people that experience this effect, 3 weeks is the breaking point.... (25 replies)

... My hubby had the rage/anger thing with Chantix. Like you, it started when he started the med, not when he actually quit smoking. He figured he was just in a bad mood at first, but then it just got worse and worse. He ended up only staying on Chantix for about three and a half weeks. He did stay on it until he had been quit smoking for about a week, week and a half. ... (25 replies)
... I just wanted to say, I have only been on Chantix for one week, and have felt rage and anger to the point where I had to ask myself where is this coming from. I might understand if I stopped smoking already just as withdrawal but I haven't yet. For just one week to feel so much rage WITHOUT quitting, seems like a side effect from the Chantix and not withdrawal. I also feel... (25 replies)
... i never got anger problems, depression probably. i had to force myself to do the little things, not lie in bed all day watching tv and snoozing, not wanting to go out of the house, or socialize with anyone etc. it really upsets me thinking that not smoking would have those effects on me! best of luck to you....bevann (25 replies)
... Newbie here. I was taking Chantix for about 3 weeks, I stopped on Tuesday this week. I was a little snappy to those around me, and found myself getting irritated more quickly, but that happened to me last time I quit. So, I'm now into week 4 with no smokes and I'm fine. The cravings are getting weaker, and I find myself thinking less and less about cigs. So, I'll keep... (25 replies)
... i am thinking on starting chantix but some of these threads worry me a little but the thing that i noticed is that the anger issue seems to be happening to the men are there any women with these same side effects or do we just get depressed as i have noticed that trend. would love to hear from anyone thanks (25 replies)

... My personal experience with Chantix was not too bad. Did not think it would work. I was surprised. It afforded me a calmer state of mind so that I could give up the smokes and not go thru those creepy withdrawal symtoms. To my surprise it was almost effortless and I feel like a new person for sure. Did not complete the whole program but am still quit. I think what... (25 replies)
... Hi. New here as well. I am sorry for those who have had trouble on Chantix. I only took it for two weeks, then started smoking again. I took it again for a couple days when I was ready to quit again, as was my husband this time. I have been smoke free for nearly two weeks and do not even want to smoke. I am one who looks at chantix as a miracle drug in a way. It makes... (25 replies)
