... My wife in on Champix, its the same drug as Chantix.... it all comes down to licensing issues with the names of drugs. In Canada its also called champix and so far my wife has been 2 weeks without a cigarette and the only side effect she suffers from is increased sex drive.... I can't keep up! Hahaha! (8 replies)

... To the best of my knowledge, cold turkey withdrawal symptoms can last at least a month with cravings gradually reducing for up to a year. Surely coming off Chantix completely at a very early stage is asking for trouble. My advice is to reduce the dose if side effects are a problem. ... (17 replies)

... Oh Paula Poor you Rash is listed as one of the less common side effects. If it was me I would split a pill in half and take twice a day for a few days and see how it goes. You definitely do not want to risk being tempted back to smoking for the sake of a temporary skin rash. If it gets worse you will obviously have to re-think. ... Chantix should be pretty much out of your system within a week of stopping it. That said, insomnia is common in many ex smokers in the early phases of a quit. My insomnia lasted a few months after going cold turkey. One thing you can do is to watch the caffeine. ... (2 replies)
