I Would Wait And See What Your Mri Report Shows. Make Sure It Is With Contrast. The Titanium Causes Shadows And Will Give A False/positive Result.
I Also Am A Failed Fusion Patient. I Had C5-6-7 Done October 2002 And Was In More Pain After Surgery. Well, 14 Months Later, I Have Had A Posterior Lami At C6-7 Done To Remove Bone Spurs That Grew After The Surgery And Now Need A Revision At C5-6-7. My Oss Is Removing Plate And Putting Interbody Cages With A New Plate At C5-6-7 And At C4-5 I Need Acdf.
It Is Very Tricky To Say Why You Didnt Fuse. Smoking Of Course Is One Reason Why It Would Take Longer To Fuse. I Never Heard Of Donor Bone Being Rejected From One's Body In The C-spine Area, But Have Heard It Happen In Other Areas. If The Bone Didnt Fuse Correctly, You Could Have Spurs Growing On That Area Pushing Into The Spinal Cord Also Causing Nerve Compression.
Was You Fusion Anterior Or Posterior??? What Levels???

I Hope I Can Be Of Help To You. It Really Takes The Fun Out Of Life When We Are In Pain Every Day. I Have Been Suffering For Only 14 Months And Physically, Mentally And Socially I Have Changed My Way Of Living.
I Am Getting Second Thoughts On My Surgery As I Am So Scared Of Becoming Worse . All My Surgeries Resulted In More Pain Post-op. It Is A No Win Situation. I Wish You Luck And Please Let Me Know What Your Mri Shows. I Would Also Ask For A Cat Scan With Contrast. It Shows The Boney Aspect Much Better Than An Mri. Has Your Doctor Suggested A Myelogram????

Good Luck
