... I had a 2-level ACDF (5/6 & 6/7) on Feb. 7th. I had suffered for years and years with the back & neck pain, so the surgery pain was a breeze to get over. The only pain I've really had is in my neck & shoulder where the nerves and muscles are getting back to normal. I've had some tingling and a little numbness, but that was said to be expected as things recover. I was told... (11 replies)

... Following in Ember's footsteps, I wanted to post an update on where I am a year later. I didn't have an injury - just suddenly, pain in my left shoulderblade and upper left arm, and a permanent "twinge" in my neck. Strength-testing revealed something I'd never noticed - my left tricep had about a quarter of the strength of my right. The MRI showed two ruptured cervical... (0 replies)
... Well, I am 3 weeks out from my C4/5 and C5/6 ACDF (donor bone, Atlantis plate, no collar), and I am cautiously optimistic. The horrendous muscle spasms have passed, and are now more infrequent and more tolerable. I went into the office on Monday and Wednesday, and relax, work remotely the rest of the days. Still no driving. I do notice that even riding as a passenger... (6 replies)
... Well, I am 53 years young, and had 2 level ACDF on C5-6 and C6-7 in June of 2004 (2 years +). I am about 99% of what I was when I was in my 30's. I am able to do most everything I want and am pain free. I take no medication. This surgery was the best thing I ever did, after suffering for 20 years with degenerating and worsening pain.
