In my experience (having had 2, one lumbar and one cervical) a CT myelogram has shown more detail and led to an accurate diagnosis and treatment. I may be headed for another cervical CT myelogram (last one was in 2008). It makes me anxious but I push through that since it's likely the right choice (especially since I have hardware in my neck which leads to minimal MRI results). I got very lucky, at the last lumbar CT myelogram. Right before they started I asked if versed was an option (for light sedation). The test was being done in hospital so I figured it might be worth a shot to ask. Thy got in touch with the resident on-call who agreed. The versed helped out during the procedure. Then after they had me in a holding area on a stretcher (laying flat) where they also have chemo and dialysis patients who are there for the day. I told them to just give me a TV and some pain meds and they did. Also lunch was brought and the staff was amazingly attentive (blankets, checking pain, etc)
