Spinal Cord Disorders Message Board

Spinal Cord Disorders Board Index

Hey everyone. This is my first time on this site and just in time. I am scheduled for an acdf fusion at the C6-7 level tomorrow. Starting to get really nervous. Spending as much time with my kids as i can. I am so sick of being in constant pain and after reading pages and pages of information am still confused as i was before. Looks like it can go either way. i have had nerve pain in my right shoulder and arm for a month. At first i thought i tore something. i had an MRI after seeing 3 other doctors who seemed to think i was fine. The MRI report read: there is a large right posterolateral disc extrusion at c6-7 . This is flattening the right side of the cervical cord wich is deviated posteriorly. This is also causing severe compromise of the right lateral recess. There is a loss of normal lordosis at this level. there may be a sequestered disc fragment within the right lateral recess slightly inferior to the disc level. Really hoping this surgery works. I didn't have much of a choice. I miss working and know it will be another 3 months or so before i can go back to being a CNA. My kids will appreciate if mommy isn't so grumpy too i'm sure lol.
