Hi Barb,

First and foremost I am sorry I wasn't around when this post broke

Can't remember if I said but about 2 months ago
I sold some of my very large garden to a friend of mine to build a home for his family, we are both Building Contractors and as I was laid up for so long before my surgery for not wanting to "agrivate my injury" I have over the past few days been operating a mechanical digger and dumper truck

Now, before I reply to your question please understand this, my Neuro Surgeon is deemed a Professor and is THE top Consultant in his field here in Scotland...

I also thought you knew that with Vertebrectomy's and Corpectomy's that they removed part of the vertabra above and below at times. Although I have had a C6 Vertebrectomy also removing the discs above and below it I have also had the vertebra above and below it one third chipped away.

Now, what my Consultant said when I asked him what I could and couldn't do after my surgery was this "Do anything you want but remember for the first three months to take it easy" He was refering to my follow up appointment, which as you know I have just had..

He also said, that my fusion was healing fine with no cracks or otherwise, and when I expressed a wee bit of concern he said "Look, you will fuse in spite of anything, as you have had a titanium plate inserted, not unless you are involved in a major rear end shunt or fall off a rather tall building" he then said, "So go, don't concern yoursef with anything and enjoy your life again.....(so I did as I was told )and what you do is up to you.

So I have been messing about in Diggers and Dumpers

As for your own Doc????? God only knows what she's about... Your muscles will be nonexistant by the time she wants you to be free from the torture chamber device.. You want a shower without it "Take one" ... If it were me the damn thing would be off for bathing and sleeping and then if I found I was feeling ok it would be off completely, but that is me Barb.. You must do what YOU feel comfortable with not only physicaly but emotionaly.

Hope some of this has helped my friend,

for now,

and (((((((((((((B)))))))))))))
