Spine problem?
Mar 13, 2011
I was referred to a spinal clinic by my pcp about a week ago due to some aches and pains I have been having. People here seem very knowledgeable and I was wondering if my symptoms sound like a spine issue.

It started a little more than a year ago with pain in my lower back. It was pretty constant. A few months after the pain began, I was walking back to my dorm and I all of a sudden couldn't see out of my right eye. I felt kind of like my eyes were crossed or something and I couldn't see right. It only last a couple minute.

As time went on, the back pain stayed pretty consistent but never really too intense. After about 6 months, I started getting aches and pains in my limbs every once in a while. I would wake up with stiff ankles or elbows occasionally. Then one day after leaving the store, my arms went numb and tingly. They stayed that way for about 30 minutes or so.

A couple moths after that the pains in my legs got worse and more consistent. I started having more pain in my arms as well. Then, I had a bout of vertigo. I was really sick, no energy for about 3 weeks after and still felt dizzy randomly after that.

Then, my wrists and ankles started hurting and the pain moved to my upper back (between shoulder blades) as well and at the bottom of my neck. Sometimes it hurts but other times it just feels like its burning. Most recently I have been having horrible pains in legs, especially my right leg which has swollen up a few times around my knee. My thighs are especially achey. I have been having lots of muscle spasms as well as a pinching feeling in my arms, legs, above my breasts, and my neck.

I am also very fatigued, feel randomly numb/tingly in parts of my body (face and limbs), have low grade fevers (usually 99), and my vit d is low. I do have some hormone problems (elevated dheas and prolactin with thickening and a small tumor in my adrenal gland) which may or may not be related to any of this.

Does this sound like a spinal cord problem?

My doctor mentioned me possibly having myofascial pain syndrome but didn't test me for it and then decided to send me to the spine specialist? I am so confused about what is going on. The x-ray of my spine was normal.
