Hey Offshore,
I nearly missed this, because I was looking for Onshore...

Just want to know I haven't forgotten you and hope you are slowly making steps toward better health.

Just a few things I might want to suggest...

Try some cold pumpkin pie for a change of taste... it should go down easy, especially with lots of cool whip on it! And if your appetite is still bad, a nurse friend of mine told me to eat a dill pickle. She learned this from one of her patients, and it has helped some people perk up and find that food doesn't taste so bad after all.

Also, when you sit up or lie back, put your hand near your neck (on the big bone at the base of your skull) and use your arm to gently help guide you. You aren't exactly lifting with that hand, but it helps with stabilizing your weak neck. But this may be tough if your arms are still very weak.

Surprisingly, the Miami J hard collar doesn't help support these areas; I guess you'd need the Miami JTO for more support. I don't know why you don't have a hard collar, but maybe it's because of the posterior surgery and the fact you will not be very mobile for a while to come. You need to keep those muscles moving a bit to help them to heal and keep from atrophying.

Take care, Hon.... Take baby steps!
