I am about 8 days post-op from ACDF 2 level fusion with corpectomy.

On the 7th day, I got excruciating pain going thru my Right bicep and tricep. Since I have never had this before, the doc did say that it was 99% coming from the neck and a nerve impingement.

Any suggestions on how to manage this? I was going to take a Percocet.

Thank you.
Take your perc and don't look back. If you are in pain, don't worry about taking your pain meds or muscle relaxants.... unless you have had addiction problems in the past. But you probably haven't, and that's why you are concerned about taking the meds, right?

You're still very early in the whole process... still probably can't even lie down in bed yet, right? I'm 7 weeks post-op, and I'm still on some meds. I also have an old injury... See, I had to qualify that! I hate having to take them, too.

Hang in there... take it easy on yourself, and just try to get as much sleep as you can. Oh wait, you are at about that stage where it's tough to sleep. I hope not, for your sake. Sorry, I'm still defiant after writing a long response to memer's post.

It'll slowly get better....

I am 9 weeks post op and experiencing the same pain. I have been in PT for 2 weeks but it is going very slowly because of pain. I do have a great PT and she has been doing deep tissue massage in my shoulder blades which has helped alot, but I do still get the pain under my bicep to the elbow. NS set me up with a Pain Management Doc for some possible injections, my appt. is tommorrow. I will let you know what he has to say about my post op pain. But, I agree take the meds. and take it easy.
