Spinal Cord Disorders Board Index

Hi all.

This is my first time posting here and found some interesting postings.

In Jan 2003 I slipped on the ice at work and scraped up my knee, which I had scoped in July 2002. I went to the emergency room and had xrays taken of my knee as at the time that was the only thing bothering me. The day after my back started hurting and was out a few days after. My doctor referred me to an ortho doctor which in turn said I had whiplash and sent me to PT. I started attending PT 3 times per week starting in March until about end of May. I had my good days and bad days. Around the end of May my back just went out and I was walking around like a 95 year old man hunched over and shuffling around. I went back to my ortho doctor whom ordered a MRI which revealed a herniated disc in C3/4. He referred me to an NS which ordered a CT and xrays of my upper back since I was complaining of alot of back pain. The CT revealed a 'boney overgrowth' or a healed fracture in C5. He took my Xrays and CT to a radiology conference and has since ordered a discogram and facet block to find which one is at the base of my problems. Those test are scheduled for early August.

Since this has started I have a burning sensation between my shoulderblades, severe headaches (starting at the base of my skull up the back and into my temples. Feels like someone is ripping my eyes out at times.), left ear feels like something is in it and stiff neck just to name a few. One thing that I have also had is my hands will feel swollen, tingle, index fingers will twitch for several minutes at times.

Oh and Worker's Comp is now going to contest my injuries cause I went back to work. Oh yay.

I'm just getting really tired of hurting. I've been out of work since late May and it isn't looking very promising that I'll be going back any time soon.

Kind of a long posting for an intro but thought you might be able to help.
