Thanks for asking this question! I too am having the shoulder and arm pain and don't know if it is because of the neck or what is causing the pain. My physical therapist back in May felt it was a shoulder problem - I went to an orthopedic doctor who took xrays and said not shoulder - he wanted to refer me to a spine doctor. He did not even touch me - just looked at the xrays. I know soft tissue injuries do not show up on xrays so I am hesitant to say it is not shoulder problem. My current therapist also thinks it is shoulder and has been treating it as a shoulder problem. However in doing so she did ultrasound on Friday (which I understand should not be done after fusion and with a plate) and on Saturday and Sunday I was in so much pain it I resorted to the Loritab which I have not taken since 4 weeks after surgery.

So I am also interested in the answers you get to this question. Thanks for asking.
