... Good for you, stick with the better facilities, will save having scans redone if you get another opinion. Also, as you are dealing with a failed cervical fusion make sure you have a recent CAT scan of the c-spine - that's what proved my symptoms to be real and not in need of a facet block as the original neurosurgeon thought. ... I had a ACDF levels 4-6 and it also failed. My ortho told me I was walking around with a broken neck held together by my plate and I had to have it repaired. ... I your pain. I have screws loose from my two level fusion at c3-c5. I now have a cyst that is causing excruciating pain, nerve damage and muscle weakness. I have to have a laminectomy on four levels, c2-c6. I am in agony right now, can't take motrin a week before surgery and I can not sleep at all. Failed fusion?

... with fusions have 'stress' put on the other levels and have to have our NS watch and help fight off other herniations at different levels.......I just had my 3rd cervical fusion and they had to go in from the front AND the back of the neck this time to REALLY fuse me since I guess it was too stubborn the first two surgeries... ... ... been designed to absorb some of the shock of the spine just like your natural discs. This would hopefully relieve the pressure on the remaining good discs which fusion does not. It will be a huge benefit to many if these work as they are designed. Hopefully even many with failed fusions will benefit. ... (3 replies)
